Moving on ... with heavy heart!

First off: If I have forgotten anyone in this post, my apologies are profound and my only excuse is age! No photos today as it is my last day in Nepal (for this visit) and everything is packed in one place or another!  I just wanted to put on record my sincerest and deepest thanks to Ramesh Tripathi, Lalmani Joshi, Hari Bhakta Tripathi, Bishnu Rai and Gab Ilko, Their friendship, guidance, help, generosity and support have enabled me to feel completely at home during the last ten weeks and also to achieve what I set out to achieve. In addition I need to thank all the villagers in Salyan VDC, Pipi and her wonderful family, Mr Thapa and everyone at Saraswati School: the shopkeepers/ wholesalers who have done me some great deals when spending other people's money: the staff of Nirvana Gardens hotel who, not only made me feel at home, but also helped my pennies to go a little further by giving me a 'long stay' discount!

On the home front, huge thanks go to my wonderful girls for their continued support and love and to my dearest friends for theirs too. The communities and individuals who gave me money to spend... well I hope I have done as you wanted me to do ... thank you for your trust: YOU HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE!

David McCluggage joined me at the start of April and tonight we are flying to SIngapore together before i head to Brunei and he wanders off to Cambodia. In SIngapore I am relying on his photographic wisdom to assist in sorting out a small problem that I have : -
Some  of you will no doubt have noticed that my photos have a slight smudge on them these days thanks to my lack of care of my trusted camera whilst in dusty environments. So with heavy heart I recognise that am going to have to buy a new one in Singapore: at least my one-eyed friend is being honourably retired as I am leaving it here for the Sonrisa children to use, hoping they will gain another small/technical skill in so doing. As you will appreciate I intend to replace it with the exact same model as have very much appreciated its capabilities: sad face!

That is probably enough rambling from me: I will update photos from Singapore where i should have some time on my hands.  It was fun to be able to celebrate Nepali New year 2073 on our last night here and I will close from Kathmandu by wishing all my friends, a peaceful, healthy and happy New Year.
