Most evenings I do some writing( currently trying to make my journal into a multi-cultural children's story), read a little (Paul Theroux The Great Train Bazaar in preparation form my own train trip at the end of June), maybe watch a film (no regular TV in this house so I bought a few DVDs for less than 3# each) and try not to jump out of my skin when a gecko falls off the window or ceiling (which they do surprisingly often!). However, last evening I was invited next door for dinner: among the diners was a pretty blonde haired lady from Siberia, a couple who are tree farmers (and brought a young mahogany tree into the living room to show me) and a Filipino man who used to play the piano on cruise ships. An interesting and fun evening indeed!
