Home and school

I have realised that I have not shared any pictures of the house where I am staying. I am extremely lucky as it is large, detached, modern, easy to maintain and air-conditioned throughout. It is part of a small development of 6 similar properties and more houses are being built behind us.
Anyway the other pictures in this album are from the annual Opening Ceremony of Tri-lingual month at the school. I was expecting to be in class as usual today, but instead was taken into the large hall to join about 2,000 pupils aged 9-18, some of the staff and the Directors of the school. Performances were wide ranging, interesting and entertaining: acting, singing and dancing in many genres - in Chinese, Malay and English with the youngest children performing a very abridged version of Romeo and Juliet. The audience was thrilled with what they saw and being written in modern English could follow all the action. It was interesting to hear the theme from Mission Impossible being played when the English Dept Powerpoint was shown and note that Juliet's nurse was dressed as a hospital nurse. An entertaining and fun couple of hours indeed.
